But where are these workers streaming to?
Into the art space, where the work is installed.

Hito Steyerl

Maniobras (Maneuvers) is a site-specific artistic project consisting of the audiovisual intervention of industrial spaces through image and sound.

Marta Azparren and musician Pablo Martín Jones, in each action, engage with the objects, vibrations, materials, resonances, and vestiges found in each former factory, intervening them to generate a range of textures and sonic and visual spaces.

Maniobras proposes to “listen” to the space of the old factory and reclaim the narrative of the bodies that were once productive. It is not a nostalgic action or a review of the past; it is about inserting temporality, incorporating the past as another layer into the collective narrative. It is about imprinting the trace of the memory of labor onto the white cube of the art space, questioning its neutrality.
