Marta Azparren is a visual artist moving between experimental film, live arts and drawing. She has a degree in Fine Arts (Complutense University of Madrid) and a master’s degree in Film and Contemporary Audiovisual Studies (Pompeu Fabra University). Resident intern at the Spanish Academy in Rome 2022 (Experimental film).

Her work proposes meta-reflection on artistic activity with particular attention to the connections between creator, spectator, work and the internal machinery of mediation, production and exhibition. Her gaze is also directed towards the non-visual in the visual, that which tends to disappear. Her audiovisual proposals tend towards expanded cinema, live editing, spoken cinema and video installation.

She published the essay “Cine ciego. Detener el flujo de las imágenes” on monochrome film and images without image in Libros de la Resistencia.
